From November 25 to 27, under the guidance of the China Association for Science and Technology, the Global Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference (2022), sponsored by the China Association for Artificial Intelligence and the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, was successfully held in Hangzhou. As a benchmark conference and international exchange platform in the field of intelligent technology, the conference aims to open up the cross-border linkage between governments, enterprises, universities and institutes, and promote the collaborative innovation and integrated development of intelligent technology.
The special forum on “Intelligent Technology and Physical Exercise” of this conference was successfully held on the morning of November 27. It was organized by the Special Committee of Sports Artificial Intelligence (in construction) of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES) and Beijing Calorie Information Technology Co., Ltd. Prof. Huo Bo, dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence in Sports of CUPES, served as the chairman of the forum.
Prof. Sun Fuchun, vice chairman of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and professor of Tsinghua University, delivered a speech before the formal opening of the forum. Prof. Sun pointed out that discussing the innovative application of artificial intelligence in sports and fitness industry through this forum is of great significance for building a “sports power” and “healthy China”, and brings constructive inspiration to the development of sports in the intelligent era.
Experts from all walks of life focused on the cutting-edge issues of intelligent science and technology, and discussed the latest progress and future development direction of sports AI research at home and abroad from the perspectives of technology development, application scenarios, talent training, etc. Associate Professor Zhang Yanxin, director of Biomechanics Laboratory of Auckland University, gave a report on “Development and Application of Intelligent Strength Training Analysis System”. Prof. Wang Jun, associate dean of the Institute of Science and Technology of China University of Mining and Technology, gave a report on “Robot Innovation Education and Engineering Practice”. Prof. Li Xi, associate dean of Shanghai Institute of Higher Studies of Zhejiang University, gave a report on “Artificial Intelligence Structure Learning Methods and Visual Applications”. Prof. Liu Tao, dean of the Institute of Precision Engineering and Micro Nano Technology of Zhejiang University, made a report on “Wearable Sensor Technology and Application Research”. Mr. Yang Bin, the algorithm director of Beijing Calorie Information Technology Co., Ltd. (Keep), made a report on “Application and Thinking of Sports Ability”. Prof. Wang Lizhen, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Biomechanics and Force Biology of the Ministry of Education of Beihang University, gave a report on the “Impact of Biomechanics and Virtual Reality Technology on Brain Function Activation”. Mr. Li Honggang, CEO of Beijing Xuanmi Technology Co., Ltd., gave a report on “Artificial Intelligence 3D Motion Posture Reconstruction: A New Engine for Sports Data”. Ralph Mann, founder and president of CompuSport, gave a report on the “Challenges of Using AI Technology in Real Time Biomechanical Analysis”.
Prof. Huo Bo of CUPES gave a report entitled “Intelligent Testing and Analysis Technology of Human Motion Around Muscle Bone Model”. Prof. Huo pointed out that the intelligent test and analysis system based on musculoskeletal dynamics is based on the athletes’ preparation needs as the premise and core, human dynamics as the basic theory, and achieves technical accumulation and breakthrough through interdisciplinary integration. This technology has been applied to athletes preparing for the Winter Olympics, especially in ski jumping, bobsleigh and skeleton, snowboarding and freestyle big air events, helping athletes improve training quality, and has been recognized by the General Administration of Sport. In the process of this technology research and development, a group of young sports science and technology talents have also been trained. Finally, Prof. Huo introduced the preparatory work progress, current expert composition and follow-up work plan of the Special Committee of Sports Artificial Intelligence. He pointed out that the Special Committee will successively hold academic and science popularization activities such as “Sports AI Summit Forum”, “National Sports Robot Games”, “World Sports Artificial Intelligence Conference”, and send sincere invitations to experts and scholars in the field of sports artificial intelligence, inviting everyone to actively participate in the activities, continuing to promote the cross integration and development of sports artificial intelligence, and empowering sports scientific and technological innovation.
The special forum “Intelligent Technology and Physical Exercise” of the Global Artificial Intelligence Technology Conference was held in the form of online and offline combination, with more than 350,000 online viewers, which attracted extensive attention in the field of intelligent technology. As a new field of sports science and technology innovation, sports artificial intelligence has been widely recognized by more and more government institutions, colleges and universities, academic organizations, scientific research institutions and high-tech enterprises at home and abroad. As the director unit of the Special Committee of Sports Artificial Intelligence (in construction) and the organizer of this forum, CUPES’s university running idea of “sports, medicine and industry” integration and innovative development and the development achievements of sports science and technology innovation have also become a highlight of this forum. The smooth undertaking of this forum has laid a solid academic foundation for CUPES to build an authoritative academic position in the field of sports artificial intelligence, and has achieved good social effects.
